"WTF is 'H up and down on P'? Asking for a friend..."

It's been almost a week since To All The Boys I've Loved Before dropped on Netflix and it's safe to say that the film, starring Lana Condor and Noah Centineo, will now be the ultimate benchmark for all future teen rom-coms. It's literally the perfect movie.

But there's one scene in the film that seems to be leaving people hella confused. When Lara Jean (Condor) arrives at the house party with Peter (Centineo), she takes a seat next to Peter's ex Gen and her friend, who quickly passes comment on the fact that she's now dating Peter. She then asks Lara Jean if she's done anything with Peter yet and the following conversation ensues:

"H on B, H on C, H up and down on P, T on C?"

If you were sat there knowing that those letters were some kind of sexual code but you didn't have a DAMN clue as what any of it meant, you were not the only one. In that moment, we were all Lara Jean.

.

Fans have @'d author Jenny Han for clarification on that one line of dialogue, but so far she hasn't responded. So that means, we're going to have to take matters into our own hands and investigate. Or 'our H's' as Gen's lil' nosey friend would probably say.

So, what does it mean? Clearly, "H up and down on P" is a give away. It's exactly what you think it is. Hand. Penis. Up, down. You get the picture. But what on God's green earth do the others mean? If 'H' is hand and 'P' is penis, what is 'B' and WHAT does 'T' on 'C' mean?!

Some people seem to have deciphered the code, noticing that the acts seem to escalate like the normal sexual bases we all know and are familiar with.

'B' is clearly boob in this scenario, which would essentially be second base. Hand on boob. Great. We can close the case file on that one. 'H' on 'C' and 'T' on 'C'? They are basically third base acts; which means, if 'B' is already boob and 'P' is already penis, 'C' is probably clit and 'T' almost definitely tongue.

.

So, there you have it. These are now the four new bases. Your life is different now, better, brighter. You have clarity and closure. Thank you to Gen's friend for enlightening us all, thank you to the alphabet and thank you to not only God but also Jesus...

Now go forth and explore these new bases, but please do so responsibly xoxo
