A funky freestyle.
Way back before he was one half of a billion dollars, Jay-Z was a fresh-faced kid from New York city with some bars and a dream (which is probably what the tagline to his future Lifetime Movie will read).
Rare footage of Jay-Z appearing on Rap City with his friend Big Daddy Kane in 1990 (aka when he was 21 years old) shows the future mogul dropping a well-prepared freestyle live on air. His look says Where’s Waldo and his rhymes say pre-Bliueprint but it's still Jay nonetheless.
Despite being young and tenacious, Jay didn't even get a namecheck from the host.
In case you were wondering what Big Daddy Kane is up to these days…
I made sushi for my wife & son today. Then we watched Cooley High. http://t.co/frrN6QOt7c
