It wasn't the lyrics, that's for sure.

While we're dealing with the torturously catchy "I Really Like You" in our own personal way, we've been pretty excited about the upcoming video since we learned that it would feature actor, Hollywood's Dad and all-round good guy, Tom Hanks.

The video is all about Tom getting up and getting ready, before heading out to face the world on his way to meet Carly and friends for the video shoot.

It's all very fourth wall-breaking and meta, but what really steals the show is Tom's lip-synching to the lyrics of the new single.

He's... not very good at it.

Apparently nobody told him the key to lip-synching is to open your mouth wide.

Because otherwise, it's not 100% clear what you're supposed to be saying.

And who knows, some wise guy could come along and add any old subtitles below you...

...And no-one would be any the wiser.

Unless they're very familiar with quotes from your movies.

Shut up, we're hilarious.

To find out what Tom's REALLY supposed to be lip-synching, check out the new Carly Rae Jepsen video below.
