Spotify and Uber are working together. This could have dire consequences.
Music streaming giant Spotify and increasingly popular taxi-hailing app Uber announced yesterday that they'll soon be working together to test Spotify-enabled cars.
By connecting their Spotify Premium account to Uber, users in select cities will be able to request rides from Ubers that have Spotify enabled from November 21st. Once in the car, they have control of the music.
The two companies released an ad for the concept , which you can watch below.
This has the potential to be really really great or really really terrible, depending on which seat of the car you're in. For customers, it will feel like a non-stop party where they get to be a backseat DJ, blasting out their favourite tracks.
But for drivers, it will probably mean having to put up with some terrible, terrible tastes in music, and putting on a brave face to make sure they don't get rated poorly just for disliking Nickelback.
That gave us an idea - to find some of the worst potential Spotify playlists Uber drivers might have to deal with on their drives.
Guess what? There's a lot. Here's five:
"Dad's Mostly Loud and Angry Playlist"
Ultimate Robin Thicke
"Let It Go" In 41 Different Languages
7 Solid Hours of Cheesey Pop
