Our YouTubers of the Week are Emma and Mike from "How To Adult"; and they're here to save you from yourself.
Being an adult sucks. Sorry, them's the facts; no amount of ice cream you eat for dinner will change this. And adulthood especially sucks when you realise that there are a LOT of things you're expected to know about life, but were never really taught; such as paying taxes, changing car tyres, or even how to find a place to live.
ENTER HOW TO ADULT.
Co-produced by our favourite Vlogbrothers John and Hank Green, How To Adult is a YouTube webseries hosted by Michael "TMikeMartin" Martin and Emma "Elmify" Mills. Mike and Emma are dedicated to teaching you all the stuff you need to survive the Big Bad World, in a easily digestible, #relatable format.
By condensing scary adult themes such as finance, relationships and even how to do laundry into the classic 2-4 minute vlog format, young people from across the internet are flocking to the channel for advice on everything; after just over a year and almost 60 videos since the channel's inception, they have over 103,000 subscribers and a collective 4 million views.
But, as is sadly not the case with all adults, Mike and Emma don't claim to know EVERYTHING. Growing up is such a hugely and varied experience that there will always be some How To Adult subjects that fall outside their level of expertise.
But, the way they handle this is a lesson in adulthood itself - that sometimes, it's okay to ask for a little outside help. Which means that the channel also sees a lot of guest contributions from other YouTubers.
With appearances from Hank Green, The Brain Scoop's Emily Graslie and even yours truly one time, the content of the channel always stays fresh, informative and super-helpful. What's more, they caption all their videos, so anyone can get the info they need.
