The internet is a bizarre place.

You might have seen a flurry of tweets on the new craze sweeping the internet – No Nut November. What is No Nut November, you ask? Well, it has absolutely nothing to do with abstaining from pecans, almonds or cashews, that's for sure.

No Nut November is an annual event that bans men from ejaculating for the entire month. Men who take on the challenge commit to 30 days without "busting a nut" – hence No Nut November – and then share their experiences online. It gained popularity in 2017 but this year it has really, er, exploded.

As the name implies, there's no sex or masturbating for the whole month under any circumstances. Ever. Erections are allowed but no ejaculation is permitted and you're also allowed one wet dream. It's pretty simple, really.

It's not as smutty as you might think though. People are using the challenge to raise money for prostate cancer, inspired by Movember or No Shave November, a month where men refuse to shave throughout the month of November for charity. So quitting masturbating can't be all bad if it's for a good cause, right?

Obviously people have been sharing hilarious memes of the challenge online and it's pretty wild.

Some have even had to throw in the towel.

And there's always one who doesn't exactly get it…

In conclusion it's all very, very strange but that's the internet for ya!
