Reggie from Riverdale is in Ariana's 'break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored' video and there's a huge twist...

thank u, next day is in full swing. Less than six months after releasing her critically acclaimed fourth studio album Sweetener, Ariana Grande has already blessed us with another iconic record. From its undeniable bangers ('7 rings') to its heartbreaking bops ('ghostin'), the entire LP is a triumph from start to finish and a reminder that Ariana is one of the most exciting stars in music right now.

Ariana Grande's "break up with your girlfriend" house was also used in a Selena Gomez video

If that weren't enough though, Ariana also released a brand new music video today (Feb 8). 'break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored' is her next single and she dropped the visual alongside thank u, next last night. Directed by Ariana's close friend and collaborator Hannah Lux Davis, it stars Riverdale's Charles Melton and features a major twist at the end that fans are living for.

What is the shock twist in Ariana Grande's 'break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored' video?

The song itself is a tongue and cheek bop about being so attracted to a guy that you want him to break up with his girlfriend. The video appears to follow that exact train of thought. Ariana shares flirtatious glances with Charles Melton even though he has a girlfriend. However, there's a plot twist! At the end of the video Ariana makes out with his girlfriend (Ariel Yasmin) instead.

Unsurprisingly, fans are living for the shock twist. Some think that it's a nod to her LGBTQ+ fanbase, while others think Ariel actually represents Ariana. Ariel is styled to look like Ariana and seeing as 'thank u, next' was all about self-love (remember those Aubrey memes), it is likely a reference to that. Regardless, the internet is obsessed.

Here are just a few of the reactions.

Incredible. Something tells us that it's a mixture of both.

What do you think? Were you shocked by the twist?
