The trailer for Boy Erased has dropped today (July 17) and with a new Troye Sivan song.

Boy Erased is based on the 2016 memoir of the same name, written by Garrard Conley. At nineteen, Conley was outed to his conservative parents and was given the option of either being disowned or enrolling at a gay conversion therapy camp to "cure" his homosexuality. The book recounts the experiences, both physical and mental, of Conley's life at the conversion camp.

Watch the trailer below:

Lucas Hedges (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) will play Jared, the film's lead, while Troye will play Gary, another boy who has been send to the same conversion therapy camp. It is Troye's first big acting role since he played Hugh Jackman's younger self in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

It appears that Troye has written at least one new song for the soundtrack for Boy Erased. In the caption under the YouTube video for the trailer, it notes that the video features a "new original song “Revelation” by Troye Sivan & Jónsi." Jonsi is the frontman for Icelandic band Sigur Rós. The trailer also features 'The Good Side' which Troye released after his SNL appearance back in January. Listen to the song in the trailer above.

You can also watch our interview with Troye earlier in the year in which he talks about how he prepared for his role in Boy Erased. Head to the 6:25 mark for chat about the film.
