"I'm raising four black kids in this society and our system is so discriminatory against black and brown people."

In 2018, Kim Kardashian announced that she was studying to become a lawyer and nobody could quite believe it. All going well, Kim could be a lawyer by 2022. California is one of only four states (Virginia, Vermont, and Washington) in the US where you don't actually need a law degree in order to take the bar exam. Kim is currently doing a four-year law apprenticeship and studying 18 hours per week.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has already passed her first year and she's been busting people out of jail ever since. She's even got a documentary coming out, Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project, which will detail her fight for justice reform. But why does uber-rich Kim even care? Well, she's just revealed that it's incredibly personal.

Speaking in the latest CR Fashion Book, Kim explained how raising her biracial children – North, six, Saint, four, Chicago, two, and nine-month-old Psalm – in America has made her think more about social justice issues.

She said: "I’m raising four black kids in this society and our system is so discriminatory against black and brown people. I want to do as much as I can to make their lives easier… I never knew much about the system until I started to dig in, and once I learned and saw how many things were wrong, I really couldn’t stop."

Kim also revealed how her priorities have changed since welcoming her children. She added: "My evolution on this is probably some combination of growing up, getting married, having kids, and my life being so different than what it was when I was starting out. Now, I feel like I have a duty to myself and to my children more than the public and I want to be a good role model for my kids."

Now, you might think, "How the hell does Mrs Kardashian West find the time?!" Between studying, being a mother, helping prisoners get out of jail, filming Keeping Up With The Kardashians, running multiple businesses and dragging her sister Kourtney Kardashian at every opportunity, her schedule must be pretty tight.

Well, apparently, it's nothing. If you want to, you can do it all. She continued: "I think that if you really stay focused you can do it all, and I don’t ever plan on slowing down. I don’t want to! I love running my business and doing everything I’m doing, but I love this the most."
