NikkieTutorials reveals eyeshadow palette collaboration with Beauty Bay
The NikkieTutorials x Beauty Bay Palette will be available from August 31.
NikkieTutorials just announced her new collaboration with Beauty Bay – her first eyeshadow palette since the whole Too Faced drama.
Nikkie, real name Nikkie de Jager, finally revealed the eyeshadow palette in a new YouTube video after she teased it on social media earlier this week. The YouTuber explained how her launch was a welcome positive after a tough year. In January, Nikkie revealed that she is transgender after being forced to come out by a blackmailer. And then recently, Nikkie and her fiancé Dylan Drossaers were victims of an armed robbery at their home in The Netherlands.
Nikkie said she was reluctant to dive into creating another palette again after the mess that transpired with TooFaced. Nikkie launched "The Too Faced Power of Makeup by Nikkie Tutorials Collaboration" in 2016 with the beauty brand, named after her popular YouTube series. The palette included eyeshadow, blusher, bronzer and highlighter, and sold for $56. Nikkie's fans snapped up the palette, but chaos ensued once it arrived with them, with people criticising its poor quality in comparison to what they'd seen in Nikkie's reveal video.

Despite the issues, the palette was a commercial success and sold at least 150,000 units, raking in over $8 million. However, Nikkie only made around $50,000 from that collaboration.
"After quite some years I have found trust in a brand again to create an eyeshadow palette," she said. "I haven't collaborated with a brand in years. We all know my first one. Let's be honest, when this palette ordeal happened with the last brand it almost cost me my career.
"People lost their faith in me, people didn't want to believe a word I said anymore. It still is the most gross, vile thing to know, but we grow from here."
Nikkie gained confidence in Beauty Bay after seeing makeup artist MMMmitchell's collaboration with them and decided to dive in. The "Temple Tutorials" palette consists of 20 shades with two contrasting sides – a brighter side and dark side. There's also two mirrors, including one that's magnified for eyeliner, and the shades all have meaningful names.
"Mr Tutorials" was named after Nikkie's fiancé Dylan and inspired by his hazel eye colour. She also named a bright red shade "Mikai" after her brother, who sadly passed away in 2018.
Unlike other palette launches, Nikkie will be gifting prizes for shoppers who get in there early. The first few buyers will receive a pop socket, or a private virtual makeup masterclass, or a signed palette – and when the palette is sold out, it won't be coming back.
