This is not what we expected...

It's no secret that Kim Possible is beloved by millions of people all around the world. Ever since the Disney cartoon debuted back in 2002, viewers have been obsessed with the sassy high school student who fights crime in her spare time. From her badass actions to her witty comebacks, she is up there with the greatest cartoon characters of all time. And now Disney is making a live action Kim Possible movie.

It's okay. We're dying of excitement too. Disney made the announcement back in February and the film is set to premiere in 2019. Rising star Sadie Stanley will play the role of Kim and Sean Giambrone from The Goldbergs will act as her best friend and sidekick Ron Stoppable. Not only that but Disney have just unveiled a first look of the film and it is already generating LOTS of online discussion.

Here is the first official shot of Sadie Stanley as Kim.

IT'S REALLY HAPPENING!

However, a lot of the response so far has been negative. Kim is famous for her iconic crop top and baggy trousers and in the released photo her outfit has been edited so much that it loses the charm and appeal of her original look. The colours are on point but the ensemble is not and, unsurprisingly, fans have been taking to Twitter to air their frustrations.

Some think that it looks like a costume.

This is not what Kim deserves.

Others are angry that the outfit does not resemble Kim's style.

You cannot do a Disney icon dirty like this.

A few people believe that the new look strips Kim of her bad bitch qualities.

Let Kim be the bad bitch that she has always been.

Ultimately the sassiness seems to be gone and fans are not feeling it.

This could be a wasted opportunity.

Nevertheless, there are many people who love the first press shot. Kim is meant to be a 15 year old girl and Sadie (who is 16 herself) captures that perfectly. Plus, there's no doubt that Kim's original cartoon was sexualised and fans are excited to see her adapted in a way that teens are more likely to resonate with.

It's good that for once someone in their twenties isn't playing a teen role.

This should be the norm.

And it's actually amazing that Disney have scouted a new actress to play the part.

Don't judge a film by it's press shot.

Perhaps most importantly, people should not be taking out their anger on a teenage girl.

LEAVE SADIE ALONE!

Reboots and adaptations never please everyone. From what we have seen so far, there is no doubt that Disney could have done better with the Kim Possible costume (15 year old girls do wear crop tops). However, it's just a still. Sadie seems like she could be an excellent actress and we can't wait to see what she does with the role.

As long as Christina Milian's iconic theme tune features, we're still onboard.
