Millie Bobby Brown has defended Joe from Netflix's You, despite Penn Badgley's *desperate* and hilarious pleas for people to stop romanticising his character.

Just like the rest of us, Stranger Things' Millie Bobby Brown has just started binge-watching You on Netflix and thanks to a late night hot take on her Instagram story, it appears as though she has some ~very~ controversial thoughts about the main character Joe Goldberg.

In case you haven't watched the show, here's a little explainer: You is about Joe (Penn Badgley), a bookstore manager who stalks Beck (Elizabeth Lail), after meeting her in his shop. He then tries to pursue a relationship with her but Beck has no idea that Joe is an actual psychopath. As the series unfolds, we find out Joe's levels of psychopathy range from spying on Beck in private and stealing her underwear to LITERALLY KILLING PEOPLE.

Recently, Penn has been on a hilarious crusade against literally EVERYONE who has romanticised Joe and has been quote tweeting those who have expressed their love for the creep of a character on Twitter. Basically, it's a no from him. And it should be a no from you too.

But international treasure Millie seems to think otherwise and she won't hear another DAMN word said about it.

Millie took to Instagram after watching the show to shout about how much she loves Joe, saying: "So I just started that new show You... He's not creepy, he's in love with her and it's okay... By the way, I know everybody is gonna say "Ahhh, he's a stalker, why would you support that?!" But like, he's in love with her... just watch the show and don't judge me on my opinion."

UMMMM, GONNA HAVE TO AGREE TO DISAGREE WITH YOU ON THIS ONE, MILLIE. Following her hot take, people started - funnily enough - judging her opinion (because of course, this is the internet) and literally no one can cope with her spicy take.

Listen, we've all had crushes on problematic fictional murderers... honestly, who hasn't?! (Billy Loomis from Scream, hiyaaaaa) But it's preeeeetty unanimous that this really isn't the hill people think Millie should be dying on. But regardless of what we all think, Millie has spoken. And she stans. You do you, Millie.

Can't wait to see what Penn's iconic response to this revelation is, though...
