Captain Marvel's post credit scenes set up Avengers: Endgame

There are two end credits scenes in Captain Marvel - one in the middle and one at the end. Both are worth watching but the first one gives us the first look at Avengers: Endgame. (SPOILERS)
She's here! Captain Marvel has officially arrived on our screens and it's safe to say that she's about to be a very valuable player in the final battle against Thanos.
The film is the first offering of Marvel's three 2019 outings (followed by Avengers: Endgame in April 2019 and Spiderman: Far from Home in July 2019) and provides an interesting backstory to the woman who is about to join forces with the Avengers.
The final scene of the movie contains a great nod to the origins of S.H.I.E.L.D's Avengers Initiative (the organisation was inspired by Carol Danvers) and, as always, Captain Marvel features a couple of veeeery interesting post-credits scenes too.
How many end credit scenes are in Captain Marvel?
There are TWO post credit scenes in Captain Marvel; one in the middle of the credits and one right at the end. Both are worth sticking around to watch but the first one is a lot more exciting and waaaaaaaay more important seeing as it gives us our first glimpse at the upcoming Avengers: Endgame. The second one is not as important but it does contains an interesting easter egg that fans of the MCU will enjoy... and it has a cat in it.
Obviously, there will be SPOILERS (!!) ahead for Captain Marvel. If you don't want to know what happens, then do not scroll down. If you do want to know what happens, scroll away...
The first post-credits scene features the first glimpse into Captain Marvel's involvement in Avengers: Endgame.
The scene appears to take place a short while after the events of Infinity War. Well, enough time to travel back from Wakanda and locate the pager. Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), James Rhodes (Don Cheadle), Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) and Captain America (Chris Evans, with beard!!!) are all holed up in a lab (the same one from the Endgame trailer), watching the Thanos Death Counter get bigger and bigger. They've also got Nick Fury's pager hooked up to a machine. They know that it's been activated but they're still not sure what it does or who is on the other end of it. It stops working, and they attempt to fix it... but just before they get the chance, Captain Marvel arrives in the lab and asks "Where's Fury?"
So, what does it mean for Endgame? Well, for a start, Captain Marvel clearly survived the snap. Assuming this scene takes place just before the start of Endgame, it also suggests that she's not gonna waste any time in helping out the other Avengers in trying to defeat Thanos. Or maybe she doesn't trust them? She seemed pretty angry about Fury's whereabouts. Either way, it also raises a question as to where she's been for the last however many years... and if Fury has had this pager since then, why hasn't he called her to help in the past?
Cap, Black Widow, Rhodes and Banner are also featured in the Endgame trailer together. Fans noticed that in a few shots of them outside the compound, there was a noticeable gap that looked like someone had been edited out. Could it Captain Marvel?!
The second post-credits scene features Goose the cat (or Goose the Flerken, if you wanna get specific) and dives a little deeper into the history of the Tesseract.
Right at the end of the credits, we're taken back to Nick Fury's office where Goose is still chilling out. He jumps onto Fury's desk and proceeds to cough up the Tesseract that he swallows whole during the events of the movie (we won't spoil how or why Goose ends up with the Tesseract in his stomach, we'll leave that for the film to explain.) It's not an important post credits scene but it does provide an extra level of understanding as to the Tesseract's whereabouts between the 90s and the events of The Avengers - and provides a nice tie-in across the MCU.
