According to Halsey, the album will contain hip-hop, rock and country elements...

Halsey just opened up about her third studio album and fans believe it will be called Manic in reference to her bipolar disorder.

It's no secret that Halsey fans are desperate to hear her new music. She's been teasing H3 ever since she released 'Without Me' as a standalone hit last year, and now the H3 era has finally begun. In May, Halsey put out 'Nightmare' as the project's critically acclaimed lead single but since then she's remained tight-lipped about what's still to come... until now.

Thanks to a brand new cover story with Rolling Stone, people are now speculating that Halsey has revealed that her new LP is named Manic.

Is Halsey's new album called Manic?

Discussing the upcoming record with Rolling Stone, Halsey explained what it will sound like: “hip-hop, rock, country, fucking everything — because it’s so manic. It’s soooooo manic. It’s literally just, like, whatever the fuck I felt like making; there was no reason I couldn’t make it.”

Halsey also revealed that H3 is the first album she's "ever written manic", in reference to the manic episodes ("a state of high energy, high activity") she gets with her bipolar disorder.

Fans are convinced that Halsey repeating "it's so manic" in the interview confirms the theory that the album is actually titled Manic. Confused? In Halsey's 'Nightmare' video she makes not one but two references to the word 'manic'. First she holds up a mugshot board with 'CA MNI' on it (an anagram of manic) and the date '10-2019', then she reads a newspaper titled Manic. This has led fans to believe that the album is called Manic and will drop in October.

Here are just a few of the fan tweets about the H3 title.

Given how open Halsey is about her bipolar disorder, it seems plausible that she would call the new album Manic. Since the start of her career, she's helped battle the stigma which surrounds bipolar disorder by speaking up about her own experiences with it. Even in this Rolling Stone profile, Halsey gets candid about her depressive episodes: "I know I’m just going to get fucking depressed and be boring again soon. And I hate that that’s a way of thinking."

Talking to Zach Sang, Halsey teased that this album will be her most honest yet. "It has a motif that permits it to maintain a narrative and keeps it a complete thought but it's much more confessional. It's very candid. It's a bit more like my poetry."

She then added: "I think that being me is interesting enough, without having to be in a cinematic concept. I noticed this when I made 'Without Me'. It got to a point where my real life is far more interesting than any story I could invent."

As it stands, Halsey hasn't confirmed anything yet and she hasn't responded to the rumours that the album is called Manic. We shall update you if she does.
