Hayley Williams also praised Billie Eilish for her performance during the show.

Hayley Williams has criticised the Grammys for not televising their rock and alternative categories in the 2020 awards show.

The 62nd Grammy Awards aired on Sunday (Jan 26) and, as per usual, there were multiple newsworthy moments. First of all, Ariana Grande delivered an emotional thank u, next medley, then Demi Lovato brought the entire audience to tears with her debut performance of 'Anyone' and, last but not least, Billie Eilish made history winning five Grammys at the age of 18.

However, there was some controversy too. Billie said that Ariana deserved to win her Album of the Year award instead of her during her acceptance speech and now Paramore's Hayley Williams is calling out the show for ignoring rock music.

Taking to Twitter after the ceremony (Jan 27), Hayley praised Billie Eilish. She tweeted: "not able to watch tonight but i had to search the internet for this performance cause i knew this bish was gonna serve talent and delicious, buttery vox. congrats @billieeilish & @finneas." She then added: "also heard Cage won Best Rock Album? CONGRATS @CageTheElephant!!"

Hayley also used it as a moment to call out the Grammys for not giving rock music its dues during the show. She tweeted: "lastly- can we get even just one Rock category televised next year, @RecordingAcad? Rock and Alternative music are vital(!) and relevant(!!!) and the youths need to see it on the TV. ok, i’ll shut up now."

Hayley is right that the Grammys didn't air any of their rock or alternative categories this year. Best Rock Performance, Best Metal Performance, Best Rock Song, Best Rock Album and Best Alternative Music Album were all given out before the live show began on TV. The Grammys also didn't televise any of their Country, Dance or R&B awards, among others.

The awards which the Grammys televised this year were the four main all-genre categories: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year and Best New Artist, along with Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Rap Album and Best Rap/Sung Performance.

Hayley previously won the Grammy for Best Rock Song with Paramore in 2015 for 'Ain't It Fun' but it wasn't aired on TV.

What do you think? Should the Grammys televise rock categories?
